Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook for a full-time, on-site role at the University of Maine at Farmington. The position involves preparing and presenting a variety of hot and cold foods, adhering to safety standards, and supporting a fast-paced kitchen team.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, 0–2 years of related experience, and the ability to read and follow recipes. We offer flexible benefits and growth opportunities within a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow basic recipes and directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving foods.
• Estimate food requirements and check production to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as needed.
