County Emergency Communications is seeking an 911 Emergency Dispatcher in Waco. The dispatcher will connect callers to responders, gather critical information, and coordinate police, fire, and EMS resources per agency procedures.

Responsibilities include calming communication, confirming locations, and documenting evolving circumstances while operating multiple systems. The role may require overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts with possible overtime, depending on assignment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong typing and listening skills essential.
• Ability to communicate clearly and stay organized under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and nonemergency calls within the service area.
• Confirm addresses, callback numbers, and incident details.
• Assess call priority using standard questions and procedures.
• Enter incident details into CAD systems.
• Dispatch appropriate responders when assigned to radio operations.
• Monitor radio traffic and update responders as conditions change.
• Provide caller instructions within training and certification limits.
• Maintain accurate records and protect confidential information.
