Job summary

H-E-B in Austin is seeking a Cake Decorator to produce and decorate cakes and pastries, while ensuring quality and safety standards. You will take orders, prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily, and support the bakery team with customer service.

You will apply decorating techniques per visual guides, read production lists, slice and label items, maintain clean work areas, and adhere to food safety procedures. Experience in a fast-paced retail bakery and HS diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment is required.
• Strong customer service, communication, and reading/writing skills.
• Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service and takes cake orders with accuracy.
• Decorates cakes using proper techniques and follows VTAs.
• Prepares, packages, labels, and merchandises fresh bakery products.
• Follows food safety/sanitation standards and operates equipment properly.
• Reads production lists and ensures cakes reach showcase on time.
• Maintains clean work area and records production as required.
