Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2+ years in cafe/food service environment.
• Supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of coffee, food safety, and customer service standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems and scheduling software.
• Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily cafe operations, including opening/closing procedures and shift transitions.
• Lead, motivate, and coach baristas and cafe staff to deliver excellent customer service.
• Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
• Train new employees on menu items, equipment use, and customer service standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Handle customer complaints or escalated issues professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, kitchen, and seating areas.
• Track sales, cash handling, and daily reports; assist with basic bookkeeping.
• Assist management with performance reviews and staff development.
• Ensure equipment (espresso machines, grinders, etc.) is properly maintained and serviced.
