Job summary

Blank Street, Inc. is seeking a General Manager in Boston to lead a fast-growing hospitality store. You will train and mentor staff, manage schedules, and supervise inventory, vendor relations, and quality control to ensure top-tier coffee and guest experience.

You will hire strong talent, drive sales, and foster a culture of excellence while maintaining compliance with labor laws and company standards. This role blends hands-on bar work with leadership and operational optimization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years leading single-store operations in hospitality or consumer brands.
• Full-time availability: 45 hours per week, 5 days, must cover 2 peak days (usually weekends).

Responsibilities

• Create a motivating and engaging team culture by training, coaching, and mentoring your team.
• Fill scheduling gaps and cover time off in store schedules.
• Create and publish staff schedules per state/local labor laws.
• Review and approve timecards and PTO requests to ensure accurate pay.
• Recruit top talent in collaboration with People Team.
• Oversee and validate training quality by Shift Leads, providing feedback.
• Ensure coffee accreditations are completed on time for new employees.
• Maintain high team engagement scores.
• Maintain food and beverage quality standards across store and ensure recipes are followed.
• Own ordering, vendor relations, waste management, inventory counts and compliance of Inventory system.
• Lead by example behind the bar 50-70% of the week for service and production.
• Ensure location safety, cleanliness, and presentation per policy.
• Maintain operation excellence and audit scores above company standards.
• Cultivate ties with neighborhood businesses to grow local loyalty.
• Champion store financial performance and peak throughput.
• Grow store AOV and meet sales goals through initiatives and team buy-in.
• Address audit feedback promptly to drive improvements.
