Job summary

Blank Street is seeking a General Manager in New York City to own daily store operations, train and lead hospitality teams, manage inventory, and ensure superior customer experiences. You will recruit talent, supervise training, and drive financial performance while upholding quality standards and safety.

This role requires 4+ years in single-store operations within hospitality or consumer brands, full-time 45 hours/week, and a salary range of $67,000–$80,000 with multiple benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience hiring, developing and managing hospitality teams.
• Experience managing inventory and supply chain ordering.
• Love for coffee and customer service.
• Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso and equipment is a must.
• Strong decision making and multi-taking skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a motivating and engaging team culture by training, coaching, and mentoring your team.
• Cover scheduling gaps and publish staff schedules per labor laws.
• Review timecards and PTO to ensure accurate, timely pay.
• Recruit talent in collaboration with the People Team.
• Oversee training quality and provide coaching for Shift Leads.
• Ensure coffee accreditations are handled on time for new hires.
• Maintain team engagement scores and high service standards.
• Maintain food and beverage quality and recipe execution.
• Own ordering, vendor relations, waste, inventory counts, and compliance.
• Lead behind the bar 50-70% of the week with customer service and production.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and location presentation per policies.
• Achieve audit scores and drive continuous improvement.
• Develop ties with neighborhood businesses to grow local loyalty.
• Champion store financial performance and peak throughput.
• Grow store AOV and meet sales goals with team buy-in.
