Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services seeks an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to perform Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans applying for VA benefits. The role emphasizes reviewing records, focused exams, and objective opinions, without prescribing or ongoing patient management.

Location is Helena, MT with approx. 10% travel. Schedule is Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Competitive pay rate and a mission-driven environment supporting Veterans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program accredited by a U.S. Department of Education-recognized institution.
• Active, valid, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the United States.
• Minimum of one year of experience working as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including renewals.
• Strong documentation, communication, and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills including MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe PDF, and electronic medical records systems.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to meet federal contractor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Compensation & Pension disability examinations for Veterans in accordance with VA program requirements.
• Review medical records, diagnostic testing, and supporting documentation before and during examinations.
• Perform focused physical assessments related to claimed conditions.
• Prepare objective, evidence-based medical opinions and complete required documentation accurately.
• Use proprietary examination and case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure reports are complete, accurate, and submitted within required timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA training requirements, HIPAA, privacy standards, and Loyal Source policies.
