Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to perform Compensation & Pension examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability benefits. The role involves independent and collaborative work, review of medical records, and providing evidence-based medical opinions.

Travel to other clinics is expected up to 10% of the time. The position requires an active NP license, BLS, and prior experience in medical disability exams is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license; authorized to practice in the United States.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience in medical disability examinations or related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, including renewals.
• Previous military experience or familiarity with veteran communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical disability examinations including review of medical history and physical examinations.
• Review and analyze medical records and diagnostic results to understand health conditions.
• Render objective medical opinions on extent of health issues and work capacity.
• Use case management systems to organize workload and submit findings.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to obtain additional information as needed.
• Document examination findings and recommendations in VA-compliant reports.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with VA training and privacy requirements.
