What We Do

First American is looking to add a Business Segment Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational functions related to providing Title services to customers. The BSM oversees the production operations of a group supporting multiple counties and is accountable for both internal and offshore production units.

What You'll Do:

  • Supervise and mentor staff, responsible for performance management and development. Assign work, monitor progress, and provide feedback. Hire, train, and develop subordinates. Delegate tasks and identify training needs.
  • Manage employee relations, performance appraisals, salary administration, incentives, and hiring processes. Handle timecard approvals, employee changes, and annual reviews.
  • Support Title Production operations, working with managers to improve organizational performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in analyzing financial data such as P&L and unit costs to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Manage interactions with process workflows and electronic imaging databases.
  • Communicate roles and responsibilities clearly, provide feedback, and delegate tasks.
  • Identify and initiate process improvements to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely service.
  • Oversee daily operations, including onshore and offshore staff, ensuring organizational flexibility through cross-training and reviewing outsourcing volumes.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate costs, and handle customer requests and complaints.
  • Analyze quality metrics, improve quality, and meet quality goals.
  • Ensure turnaround time goals are met or exceeded; provide regular reports and analysis.
  • Travel to offsite locations as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) for problem solving.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders, including offshore teams.
  • Experience managing large, diverse teams, including virtual employees.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Title Examiner background is required.

Pay Range: $72,125-$96,125 annually. This range is an estimate and actual pay depends on various factors.
