What We Do

First American is looking to add a Business Segment Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational functions related to providing Title services to customers. The BSM oversees production operations of a group supporting multiple counties and is accountable for both internal and offshore production units.

What You'll Do:
  1. Supervise staff, coach and mentor team members, manage performance, and support professional development. Assign and monitor work, hire, train, and provide feedback.
  2. Handle performance management activities including goal setting, performance reviews, salary administration, incentives, and employee relations issues.
  3. Support the management of Title Production operations, working with managers to improve organizational performance and efficiency.
  4. Assist financial analysis and cost performance improvements, utilizing financial tools to guide operational decisions.
  5. Manage interaction with workflow systems and electronic imaging databases.
  6. Ensure clear communication of roles and responsibilities, provide feedback, and identify training needs.
  7. Lead process improvement initiatives and problem-solving activities to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, timely service.
  8. Oversee day-to-day operations, including managing onshore and offshore staff, promoting cross-training, and reviewing outsourcing strategies.
  9. Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations on costs, quality, and turnaround times, and handle customer requests and complaints.
  10. Analyze quality metrics, focus on quality improvement, and own the process and results.
  11. Maintain turnaround time goals and provide regular performance reports.
  12. Travel to offsite locations as required.
What You'll Bring:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) for problem-solving.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders, including offshore teams.
  • Experience managing large, diverse, and virtual teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Background as a Title Examiner is required.

Pay Range: $72,125 - $96,125 annually.

This range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and location.
