What We Do

First American is looking to add a Business Segment Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational functions related to providing Title services to customers. The BSM is responsible for the production operations of a group supporting multiple counties and is accountable for internal and offshore production units.

What You'll Do:
  1. Supervise and mentor staff, responsible for performance management, development, and work assignment. Hire, train, and develop subordinates, providing feedback and identifying training needs.
  2. Manage employee relations, performance appraisals, salary administration, incentives, and hiring processes, including timecard and time off approvals.
  3. Support the management of Title Production operations, working to monitor and improve organizational performance.
  4. Assist in improving unit cost performance through financial analysis and operational adjustments.
  5. Manage workflow processes and electronic database systems.
  6. Ensure clear communication of roles and responsibilities, providing feedback and training.
  7. Lead process improvement activities to enhance quality, reduce costs, and meet turnaround time goals.
  8. Oversee daily operations of the segment, including onshore and offshore staff, ensuring organizational flexibility and reviewing outsourcing volumes.
  9. Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations on costs, turnaround times, and quality, and handle customer requests and complaints.
  10. Analyze quality metrics, focus on quality improvement, and own the process and results.
  11. Own turnaround time goals, providing regular reports and analysis.
  12. Travel to offsite locations as required.
What You'll Bring:
  1. Strong skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  3. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Effective interpersonal skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Experience managing large, possibly virtual teams.
  6. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  7. At least 4 years of related experience and 2 years of management experience.
  8. Background as a Title Examiner is required.

Pay Range: $72,125-$96,125 annually

This range is an estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on various factors.
