What We Do

First American is looking to add a Business Segment Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational functions related to providing Title services to customers. The BSM oversees production operations supporting multiple counties and is accountable for internal and offshore production units.

What You'll Do:
  1. Supervise staff, coach and mentor team members, manage performance, and facilitate development. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide feedback. Hire, train, and identify training needs.
  2. Manage employee relations, performance reviews, salary administration, incentives, and hiring processes. Handle timecard approvals, employee changes, and annual reviews.
  3. Support overall management of Title Production operations, working with managers to improve organizational performance and efficiency.
  4. Assist the Financial Organization in improving unit cost performance by analyzing financial data and implementing operational changes.
  5. Manage interaction with workflow processes and electronic databases such as TRD, DATATREE, DATATRACE.
  6. Ensure clear communication of roles and responsibilities; provide feedback and delegate tasks.
  7. Identify and initiate process improvements to enhance quality, reduce costs, and meet turnaround time service level agreements.
  8. Drive daily operations, including managing onshore and offshore staff, ensuring organizational flexibility through cross-training and reviewing outsourcing volumes.
  9. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate costs, and handle customer requests, concerns, and complaints.
  10. Analyze quality metrics, focus on quality improvement, and own the quality process and results.
  11. Maintain turnaround time goals, provide regular reports and analysis.
  12. Travel to offsite locations as needed.
What You'll Bring:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) for problem-solving.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders, including offshore teams.
  • Experience managing large, diverse, and virtual teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 4 years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Background as a Title Examiner is required.

Pay Range: $72,125-$96,125 annually. This estimate depends on factors like experience, skills, and location.
