Qualifications

What We Do

First American is looking to add a Business Segment Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational functions related to providing Title services to customers. The BSM oversees production operations supporting multiple counties and is accountable for internal and offshore production units.

What You'll Do:
  1. Supervise staff, coach and mentor team members, manage performance and development, assign work, monitor progress, hire, train, and provide feedback.
  2. Manage employee relations, performance appraisals, salary administration, incentives, and hiring processes, including timecard and time off approvals.
  3. Support overall management of Title Production operations, working with managers to improve organizational performance.
  4. Assist in financial management by analyzing monthly P&L and unit cost data, and using financial tools to optimize performance.
  5. Manage interactions with process workflow systems and electronic imaging databases.
  6. Ensure clear communication of roles, responsibilities, goals, and objectives; provide feedback and training as needed.
  7. Identify and initiate process improvements and problem-solving activities to ensure high-quality, cost-effective products meeting turnaround time goals.
  8. Oversee daily operations of the segment, including onshore and offshore staff, ensuring organizational flexibility through cross-training and reviewing outsourcing volumes.
  9. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate costs, and handle customer requests and complaints.
  10. Collaborate with the Quality Lead to analyze quality metrics and drive improvements.
  11. Own turnaround time goals, provide weekly reports and analysis.
  12. Travel to offsite locations as required.
What You'll Bring:
  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) for problem-solving.
  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  3. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills with internal/external customers and teams.
  5. Experience managing large, diverse, and virtual teams.
  6. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  7. At least 4 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in management/leadership roles.
  8. Background as a Title Examiner is required.

Pay Range: $72,125-$96,125 annually. This range is an estimate and varies based on multiple factors including experience, skills, and location.
