What We Do

First American is looking to add a Business Segment Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational functions related to providing Title services to customers. The BSM oversees production operations supporting multiple counties and is accountable for internal and offshore production units.

What You'll Do:
  1. Has full supervisory responsibility for staff. Coaches and mentors staff, responsible for performance management and development. Assigns and directs work, monitors progress and status. Hires, trains, and develops subordinates. Provides feedback, delegates tasks, and identifies training needs.
  2. Delivers established goals and objectives, conducts team performance appraisals, manages salary administration, incentives, and hires qualified candidates. Handles timecard approvals, time off/employee changes, and annual performance reviews. Manages employee relations issues appropriately.
  3. Provides overall management support for Title Production operations. Works directly with managers to monitor and improve organizational production, employee, and unit cost performance.
  4. Assists the Business Unit Financial Organization and Management to improve unit cost performance. Analyzes monthly P&L and unit cost data. Uses financial tools to guide operational changes that positively impact financial performance.
  5. Manages interactions with process workflow, FAST, and electronic imaging databases (TRD, DATATREE, DATATRACE, etc.).
  6. Ensures teams and individuals understand roles and responsibilities through clear communication of goals. Provides feedback, delegates tasks, and identifies training needs.
  7. Initiates process improvement and problem-solving activities to ensure high-quality, cost-effective products meeting turnaround time service level agreements.
  8. Oversees day-to-day operations of the segment, including onshore and offshore staff. Promotes organizational flexibility through cross-training and reviews outsourcing volumes with offshore operations.
  9. Manages vendor relationships, including cost negotiations, grading, turn time, and quality. Handles customer requests, concerns, and complaints.
  10. Analyzes quality metrics with the Quality Lead to improve quality and meet goals. Owns the process and results.
  11. Owns turnaround time goals, ensuring they are met or exceeded. Provides weekly reports and analysis.
  12. Travel to offsite locations as required.
What You'll Bring:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint) for problem solving.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with internal/external customers, management, and offshore teams.
  • Experience managing large on-site, off-site, and virtual teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of management/leadership experience.
  • Title Examiner background is required.

Pay Range: $72,125-$96,125 annually. This estimate is based on various factors including knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, and location.
