What We Do

First American is looking to add a Business Segment Manager. In this role, you are responsible for the day-to-day operational functions related to providing Title services to customers. The BSM oversees production operations supporting multiple counties and is accountable for internal and offshore production units.

What You'll Do:
  1. Supervise and mentor staff, responsible for performance management, development, and work delegation. Hire, train, and provide feedback to subordinates.
  2. Manage employee relations, performance appraisals, salary administration, incentives, and hiring processes, including timecard and leave approvals.
  3. Support Title Production operations, working with managers to monitor and improve organizational performance and costs.
  4. Analyze financial data to improve unit cost performance, using available tools to guide operational changes.
  5. Manage interactions with process workflow systems and electronic imaging databases.
  6. Communicate roles and responsibilities clearly, provide feedback, and identify training needs.
  7. Identify process improvements and problem-solving activities to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely service.
  8. Oversee day-to-day segment operations, including offshore staff, ensuring organizational flexibility through cross-training and reviewing outsourcing volumes.
  9. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate costs, and handle customer requests and complaints.
  10. Analyze quality metrics, focus on quality improvement, and own process results.
  11. Ensure turnaround time goals are met or exceeded, providing regular reports and analysis.
  12. Travel to offsite locations as required.
What You'll Bring:
  1. Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for problem solving.
  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  3. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Interpersonal skills to manage internal, external, and offshore teams.
  5. Experience managing large on-site, off-site, and virtual teams.
  6. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  7. At least 4 years of related experience and 2 years of management/leadership experience.
  8. Background as a Title Examiner is required.

Pay Range: $72,125-$96,125 annually. This range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, and location.
