Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a leading provider of advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems, is seeking a Business Development Engineer for USSOCOM. You will bridge RF capabilities with customer requirements, support field trials, and work with Engineering and BD teams to push strategic initiatives across tactical edge networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Citizen due to clients under U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Practical experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux environments, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++) for test automation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
• Outdoor environment for large-scale field trials and tactical demonstrations.
• Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of complex tactical network demonstrations and testing.

Responsibilities

• Support USSOCOM capability gaps and SOF-peculiar communications requirements, mapping operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Assist in planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to leverage testing and benchmarking data to verify architectures.
• Maintain alignment with the Business Development team to support technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Build and present technical demonstrations for USSOCOM components and partners.
