Job summary

Motorola Solutions’ subsidiary Silvus Technologies seeks a Business Development Engineer to bridge RF capabilities with USSOCOM needs. You will engage with engineering and BD teams to demonstrate interop, field-readiness, and low-signature performance across tactical edge environments.

Role involves up to 50% travel, remote work option depending on location, and collaboration with SOF commands to shape product roadmaps. Strong technical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2–5 years in systems engineering or defense tech roles, or HS diploma with 5+ years experience.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios, IP-based routing, or tactical comm systems.
• Familiar with RF test equipment like spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent on successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Analyze USSOCOM capability gaps and map needs to radio solutions.
• Plan networks, configure field trials, and conduct live on-air evaluations.
• Collaborate with Engineering to verify architectures are sound.
• Support Business Development with technical needs and priorities.
• Build and present technical demos for low-signature, resilient edge ops.
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses and test end-to-end architectures.
• Travel 50% to customer sites, labs, and field-testing environments.
