Job summary

Motorola Solutions, through its Silvus Technologies subsidiary, seeks a Business Development Engineer for US Marine Corps engagements. You will bridge RF capabilities with Marine Corps requirements, support demonstrations, and coordinate with engineering and business development for field-ready solutions.

The role involves travel, security clearance, and collaboration across MARCORSYSCOM and MCWL to shape product roadmaps and test architectures for expeditionary networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software‑Defined Radios (SDRs), IP‑based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USMC operational priorities and mapping requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to verify architectures are technically sound.
• Maintain alignment with the Business Development team to support technical needs and priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations for expeditionary and tactical edge networking.
• Contribute to responses for RFIs/RFPs and market research for potential integrations.
• Engage with MARCORSYSCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems and naval centers on technical discussions.
• Gather field feedback and translate requirements into product roadmap inputs.
