Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics LLC in Houston seeks an experienced IT professional to serve as the primary technical support for Transportation Management System (TMS) and related applications. You will ensure system integrity, analyze issues, and coordinate with Operations and Finance to streamline processes.

The role requires strong problem solving, knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Power BI, and a track record of delivering enhancements, reporting, and successful deployments across

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in logistics IT or TMS environments.
• Minimum 1 year industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical support for TMS and related applications.
• Act as expert on TMS logic and functionality and ensure system integrity.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize existing software applications.
• Interface with Operations and Finance to review issues and changes.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve site technical issues promptly.
• Investigate and recommend new technologies and information systems.
• Collaborate with system providers to obtain costs for enhancements.
• Identify improvement opportunities; design, test, and implement changes.
• Develop standardized and ad hoc site and customer reporting.
• Perform feasibility analyses on solutions and processes.
• Monitor performance and conduct maintenance and backups.
• Support customer-facing integration and implementation projects.
• Manage action items between Crane and system vendors.
• Participate in sales calls and contract logistics opportunities.
• Create and maintain processes and documentation rolled out to global accounts.
• Continue learning of system capabilities and industry trends.
• Assist in billing activities related to supported systems.
• Manage a team supporting Transportation Management Systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Serves as primary technical support for applications, such as Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Serves as expert on transportation management system (TMS) logic and functionality.
• Ensures system integrity, including setup and control processes.
• Supports troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of existing software applications.
• Interfaces with Operations and Finance teams to review issues or changes. Provides regular communication to Operations and internal departments regarding operational issues, process flows, customer requirements, etc. Includes analysis, insight, and recommendations.
• Coordinates with other departments to resolve site technical issues impacting application use. Ensures issues are being addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
• Investigates and recommends new technologies and information systems appropriate for the company, where applicable.
• Work with system providers or other departments to obtain costs for system enhancements.
• Identifies application improvement opportunities. Designs, develops, tests, and implements changes or fixes for improving service levels, reducing costs, and providing operational enhancements.
• Assists in developing standardized and ad hoc site, management, and/or customer reporting. Analyzes discrepancies and implements changes or fixes.
• Conducts feasibility analyses on application solutions, processes, and equipment.
• Monitors system performance. Performs maintenance and backups as needed.
• Supports customer facing integration and implementation projects.
• Manages action items between Crane and systems vendors.
• Participates in sales calls and future opportunities in the Contract Logistics pipeline.
• Creates and maintains processes and procedures which are rolled out to local, regional, and global accounts as they relate to systems.
• Creates and maintains application support documentation.
• Continued learning of application capabilities, configurations, limitations, etc. Continued learning of industry trends, client requirements, other applications available to support operations, etc.
• Assists in billing activities related to systems being supported.
• Manages a team of resources in support of the Transportation Management. Systems (TMS) or other applications, where applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Job may require punctual attendance and regular presence on-site at the assigned work location.
