Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics is seeking a proven leader to oversee a Transportation Coordinators team in Houston. You will mentor staff, serve as the main escalation point for customer and carrier issues, and align transport solutions with client requirements.

Primary responsibilities include planning shipments via a Transportation Management System, monitoring activity, resolving billing disputes, and driving process improvements while maintaining high service levels and on-site presence.

Qualifications

• Experience leading logistics or transportation teams.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency with TMS and MS Office; able to analyze data to resolve issues.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Transportation Coordinators, providing training and performance feedback.
• Act as escalation point for customer and carrier issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Conduct client reviews and align transport solutions with business needs.
• Plan and oversee shipments using TMS across truckload, LTL, and hotshot.
• Monitor shipments, manage exceptions, and close escalations.
• Oversee billing processes and resolve disputes to ensure accurate invoicing.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for consistency.
• Assign and manage workload to meet service levels and deadlines.
• Support after-hours exception management on rotating basis.
• Foster continuous improvement and customer-first service.

Job description

• Lead and mentor Transportation Coordinators, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Act as primary escalation point for customer and carrier issues, ensuring timely resolution and high service levels.
• Conduct client business reviews and collaborate with stakeholders to align transportation solutions with business needs.
• Utilize Transportation Management System tools to plan, execute, and oversee shipments across truckload, LTL, hotshot.
• Monitor shipment activity, manage exceptions, and ensure closure on escalated service failures.
• Oversee customer and carrier billing processes, resolve disputes, and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures to standardize processes and support operational consistency.
• Assign, prioritize, and manage workload across the team to ensure service levels and deadlines are consistently met.
• Support after-hours exception management on a rotating basis as needed.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer-first service.

Education and Experience

• 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain required
• 1–2 years of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or team lead role strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• Strong communication skills with proven ability to lead teams and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and resolve issues with sound judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.
• Job will require punctual attendance and regular presence on-site at the assigned work location
