Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems for a client site. You will manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and controls to maximize efficiency and uptime, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, building automation, and routine inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and overall system design and application.
• Valid state driver’s license and appropriate location licenses/certifications as required.
• Possess a valid EPA Section 608 Universal certification for refrigerants.
• High School Diploma or GED; apprentice/trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work orders for mechanical, electrical, lighting, and other building systems.
• Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and related building components.
• Perform major HVAC and plumbing repairs, including replacements of components and piping as needed.
• Operate and maintain building automation systems for HVAC and related equipment.
• Inspect, report, and document conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
• Respond to emergencies and comply with safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain and replace filters, fixtures, and general maintenance items as required.
• Comply with codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
