Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Operating Engineer to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems at the assigned property(s). The role includes rounds, preventive maintenance, repairs, and maintaining a safe environment for occupants.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in commercial property operations, valid trade licenses as required, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of apprentice program or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related work experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting.
• May require Journeyman/Master Electrician license or related city licenses.
• Basic computing skills (Outlook, Excel & Word).
• Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, and energy management systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s).
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps and cooling towers.
• Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment and sensors for comfort.
• Inspect and repair as needed; respond to emergencies and alarms.
• Document activities and report to supervisor.
