Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking a Building Mechanical Engineer to join our Infrastructure Design Department in delivering HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for water and wastewater projects across the West Central region. You will design central plants, distribution systems, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients.

The role requires a PE license or the ability to obtain within one year, 5+ years of building mechanical experience, and strong analytical,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Design building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Plan, design, and optimize central hydronic plants and utilities.
  • Prepare calculations for HVAC loads, duct/pipe sizing, energy analyses using RESCHECK and COMCHECK.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, reports, and specifications; coordinate with vendors.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and interface with clients and contractors.
  • Support field staff during construction phase.
  • Lead meetings with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
