Jacobs is seeking a Building Mechanical Engineer for infrastructure projects in the West Central region. You will design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and central plant systems, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients and vendors.

The role requires a PE or ability to obtain, 5+ years of experience, and strong data analysis with MS Office proficiency. Hybrid work policy applies, with salaries ranging across the posting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• PE license or ability to obtain within one year.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive building mechanical engineering and project delivery experience.
• Motivation, data analysis, problem-solving, organization and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Design complete HVAC systems, central plants and energy analysis using codes and standards.
• Design plumbing, fire protection and water distribution systems.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, basis of design reports and specifications.
• Perform HVAC load calculations, duct/pipe sizing and lifecycle cost analyses.
• Support field staff during construction and coordinate with clients, vendors and project teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage project budgets and schedules.
