Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Building Mechanical Engineer to contribute to infrastructure projects in the West Central US. You will design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and central utilities for water, wastewater, and industrial facilities, mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with architects and clients.

The role requires a PE license or eligibility within one year, at least 5 years of experience, and strong data analysis and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• PE license or ability to obtain within one year.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive building mechanical engineering and project delivery experience.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Design complete HVAC systems, including package type and central plants, using codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IBC, IECC).
• Design plumbing systems, including utility and potable distribution, drainage, and related systems.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and basis of design reports.
• Lead meetings with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to establish project needs.
• Support field staff during construction and manage project budgets and schedules.
