Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a driven Building Mechanical Engineer to join our Infrastructure Design team in the West Central region, working on water and wastewater projects. You will design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and central plant systems, coordinating with architects, engineers, and clients across treatment, admin, and lab spaces.

Required are a PE (or ability to obtain within a year), a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, and at least 5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive building mechanical engineering and project delivery experience.
• Motivation, strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and central plant systems for buildings.
• Prepare calculations for HVAC loads, piping, and energy analyses.
• Produce detailed drawings, specifications and design reports.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and technicians and mentor junior staff.
• Support field staff during construction and respond to RFIs.
