Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, odor control and fire protection for water and wastewater facilities in the West Central region. You will prepare drawings, specifications, perform calculations, and coordinate with architects, vendors and clients.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 10+ years of HVAC/plumbing/fire protection design, a Professional Engineer license, and strong analytical and multitasking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in producing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs and providing services during construction for design-build projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Motivation, strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and planning of mechanical systems for water and wastewater facilities including HVAC, plumbing, odor control and fire protection.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for client submissions and provide plan checks.
• Coordinate with architects, technicians, engineers of other disciplines, and vendors.
• Perform design calculations for air loads, piping, duct sizing and energy analyses.
• Support field staff during construction and develop as-built drawings.
