Jacobs is seeking a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer to lead and deliver comprehensive mechanical designs for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the West Central region. You will develop drawings and specifications for client submissions and provide permitting support, while coordinating with architects and engineers across disciplines.

The role requires a PE license and 10+ years of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for design-build projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Strong data analysis, technical problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, design, and focus on mechanical systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare design drawings and specifications for client submission.
• Provide jurisdictional plan checks and permitting support.
• Design plumbing, HVAC, odor control, and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate with architects, technicians, and engineers of other disciplines.
• Mentor designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.
• Support field staff during construction and respond to submittals/RFIs.
