Job summary

AECOM Transit Design Manager (BRT) is a hands-on project leader for the Bus Rapid Transit design team. The role reports to the US Mid-Atlantic Region Transportation Business Line and oversees PS&E package work with cross-functional collaboration.

We seek candidates in the East Region who can work on a HYBRID basis (2–3 days/week in office) from an East Coast office, delivering diverse transit projects nationwide and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 8+ years of relevant transportation design experience preferred.
• Experience with Bus Rapid Transit or Light Rail Transit designs.
• US Citizenship required due to project needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, preliminary, and final design for BRT projects.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and support business development.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and visual aids for BRT infrastructure.
• Develop construction estimates and technical effort estimates.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and manage project budgets/schedules.
