Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Transit Design Manager (BRT) to lead the design of Bus Rapid Transit projects and oversee multidisciplinary teams across the East Region. The role emphasizes collaboration, quality design delivery, and coordination with client standards.

The position requires a PE license and extensive transit design experience, with a hybrid work arrangement (2–3 days in office) from an East Coast office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineering license.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation/Power InRoads/OpenRoads Designer.
• Bus Rapid Transit and/or Light Rail Transit design experience.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as team lead, project manager and/or discipline lead on BRT design projects.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and support business development.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and visual aids for BRT infrastructure.
• Review multimodal street design and develop construction cost estimates.
• Prepare technical specification sections and perform QC of designs.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and manage budget and schedule with minimal supervision.
