Job summary

AECOM Transit Design Manager (BRT) in the East region is a hands-on project leadership role focused on designing Bus Rapid Transit systems. Hybrid work arrangement allows 2–3 days in the office while delivering multi-disciplinary solutions.

You'll lead design teams, coordinate with stakeholders, develop PS&E packages, and contribute to business development initiatives. The role requires PE license, roadway design experience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education.
• Professional Engineer license is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/Power InRoads or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• Roadway design experience with Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and/or Light Rail Transit (LRT).
• US Citizenship is required due to nature of work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as team lead, project manager and/or discipline lead on planning, preliminary and final design of BRT projects.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline design teams and support business development.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and visual aids for BRT infrastructure.
• Develop construction cost estimates and PS&E packages.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and manage tasks within budget and schedule.
