Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Transit Design Manager (BRT) to lead the design of Bus Rapid Transit projects from our East Region offices with hybrid schedule. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with design engineers and technicians to deliver PS&E packages and robust street designs.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor’s in engineering, and significant leadership, BD experience, and transportation design expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Professional Engineering license is required.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microstation/Power InRoads, Power GeoPak or ORD.

Responsibilities

Serve as team lead, project manager or discipline lead on planning, preliminary and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects.
Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and support business development.
Develop drawings and visual aids for BRT infrastructure and prepare multimodal street designs.
Review project deliverables and perform quality control on design calculations.
Develop construction cost estimates and budgets in collaboration with the project team.
Lead entry-level engineer mentorship and coordinate tasks to meet schedule.
