Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an Underwriting Specialist in Brokerage Casualty (E&S/Specialty) to determine risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, and terms for complex accounts. You will work with brokers, assess loss exposures, and influence reinsurance placements while helping mentor junior staff.

Ideal candidates have five years in CL underwriting with E&S experience and a degree preference, along with CPCU/CIC/AU/ARM/CPIW/CWIS/ASLI certifications. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risk to determine acceptability and pricing for complex risks.
• Review broker submissions and determine coverage and endorsements.
• Place reinsurance per department guidelines and manage broker relationships.
• Support training of Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants.
