Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Senior Underwriting Consultant in Brokerage Excess (E&S/Specialty) to underwrite highly complex risks with broad authority. You will develop pricing, terms, and reinsurance strategies, while reviewing claims history and maintaining broker relationships.

Qualifications

• Underwriting of complex risks with high technical knowledge.
• Experience in Excess & Surplus (E&S) lines.
• Strong negotiation and broker-management skills.
• Ability to mentor and lead underwriting staff.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite individual risks for acceptability, pricing, terms and conditions.
• Develop rates, endorsements and exclusions with actuarial input.
• Review claims history and determine reinsurance placement when needed.
• Manage workflow and coach underwriters; mentor at all levels.
• Represent department in committees and marketing initiatives.

Education

Undergraduate degree preferred

CPCU/CIC/AU/ARM/CPIW/CWIS/ASLI courses preferred
