Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Broadband Specialist I (Field Technician) to install and service cable television and broadband for residential customers. You will drive a company van, access customer homes, and perform installations, changes of service, and related tasks.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, the ability to work in tight spaces and in all kinds of weather, and flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work in all weather and at heights.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Make installations complete from tap to terminals in customer homes.
• Perform new connects, reconnects, and service changes.
• Read signal levels and use field strength meter.
• Drive company vehicle and perform vehicle upkeep.
• Provide customer service and inform FCC rules and company policies.
• Use CATV hand and power tools and complete paperwork as prescribed.
