Apex Engineering Group is seeking a Structural-Bridge Engineer in Minnetonka, MN. The role supports bridge and structural projects from design through construction, reporting to the Lead Structural Bridge Engineer.

Occasional travel and in-person meetings with clients are expected. The ideal candidate brings a civil/structural engineering degree and 2+ years of bridge experience, with a path toward licensure in the state of practice within two years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 2+ years of bridge engineering experience.
• Ability to become licensed as a structural engineer within two years of hire.
• Experience with transportation projects and public agencies in Minnesota and North Dakota.
• Experience with in-service bridge inspection would be a bonus.
• Proficient with Windows/Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform bridge engineering calculations, analysis and design tasks.
• Independently write technical specifications, reports and other correspondence.
• Assemble plans for agencies to meet standards.
• Perform independent checking of other team members’ design work.
• Collaborate with technicians to assemble complete engineering plans.
• Meet deadlines and complete projects within given timeframes.
• Employ a variety of bridge design standards.
• Assist with technical proposals for project pursuits.
• Communicate effectively in project meetings and client communications.
• Think independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Follow company handbook and safety policies.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team and participate in professional organizations.
• Travel and out-of-town stays may be required; overtime possible.
