Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Team Leader for Bridge Inspections to join the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone early in their bridge inspection career and aims to grow into a Team Leader role.

You will work on diverse bridge projects, perform field inspections, develop plans, and collaborate with cross‑functional engineers. This position offers growth, teamwork, and opportunities across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required.
• 0–1 years of experience in bridge/ancillary structure inspection.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Proficiency in structural engineering principles and field application.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a range of bridge and infrastructure inspection projects.
• Serve as Assistant Team Leader for bridge and sign structure inspections.
• Perform structural engineering tasks and field inspections.
• Support preparation of bridge load ratings.
• Develop plans using Visio and MicroStation.
• Collaborate with engineers on multiple concurrent projects.
• Assist with research, preliminary repair calculations, and structural analysis.
• Help prepare cost proposals and scope-of-work documents.
• Maintain project documentation and complete training as required.
