Job summary
WSP is seeking a Structural Engineer - Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team in New Jersey offices (Newark-NJ, Lawrenceville-NJ, Morristown-NJ, and more). This role emphasizes leadership with hands-on inspections, guiding engineers and coordinating field and office activities across multiple projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- NCBI certification via FHWA training course
- 3+ years in bridge/tunnel/inspection or related work
- NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges
- New Jersey PE license or ability to obtain
- Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team
- Able to perform field work incl. heights, weather, night work
- Must have valid driver’s license and MVR check
- Strong communication and independent work capability
- Proficiency with MS Office and engineering tools
- Willingness to travel as needed
Responsibilities
- Lead Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on diverse projects
- Oversee inspections of bridges, tunnels and related assets
- Perform structural engineering tasks and preliminary design calculations
- Develop plans/sketches using MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Guide and train entry-level engineers
- Support cost proposals and scope of work documents
- Maintain project documentation and safety compliance
- Stay current with latest structural engineering practices
- Work 50% in the field and 50% in the office
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams
