Job summary

WSP is seeking a Structural Engineer - Bridge Inspection Team Leader to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team. Based in New Jersey offices, the role combines leadership with field inspections and engineering analysis.

You will guide junior engineers, develop load ratings, and support multi‑project delivery. The ideal candidate has a structural/civil background, NCBI certification, 3+ years of related experience, and NJ PE license or plan to obtain it promptly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector (NCBI) certification via FHWA training.
• 3+ years in bridge/tunnel/ancillary inspection or related work.
• NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges certificate; 130053 refresher if required.
• New Jersey PE license or ability to obtain promptly.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and project applications.
• Strong interest in structures and transportation fields.
• Physically capable of extensive field work including at heights and in adverse weather.

Responsibilities

• Lead Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team on inspection projects.
• Serve as Team Leader on Bridge, Tunnel & Ancillary inspections.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections.
• Assist in development of load ratings for bridges and tunnels.
• Develop plans/sketches using MicroStation, Visio, and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to execute multiple projects.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineers.
• Support field work, research, and preliminary design calculations.
• Assist with proposals, scope of work documents, and project documentation.
