Job summary

WSP USA in New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Team Leader for Bridge Inspections to join our Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection Team. Open to WSP offices in Lawrenceville-NJ, Newark-NJ, Morristown-NJ, and surrounding locations.

This role is ideal for someone early in their bridge inspection career, with a focus on fieldwork half the time and office support, developing into a Team Leader. You will perform inspections, assist with load ratings, and contribute to project documentation and bid

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• 0 to 1 years of experience with bridge and/or ancillary structure inspection projects.
• Engineer-in-Training certification, or ability to obtain it within one year of hire.
• Proficient understanding of structural engineering principles, practices, processes, and their application to project-related issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work both independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a range of bridge and infrastructure inspection projects.
• Serve as an Assistant Team Leader for bridge and sign structure inspections.
• Perform structural engineering tasks and field inspections.
• Support preparation of bridge load ratings.
• Develop plans and sketches using Visio and MicroStation.
• Collaborate with engineers on multiple concurrent projects.
• Assist with project research and cost proposals.
• Maintain project documentation.
