Job summary

AMT, A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc., seeks a Structural/Bridge Engineer with 4+ years of experience in analysis and design for highway and pedestrian bridges, rehab projects, and loads ratings. Based in Herndon, VA, with opportunities to work at other offices.

You will manage tasks, mentor engineers, and lead project teams, collaborating with state DOTs, counties, and private clients, while pursuing career advancement and ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution; PE licensure required or ability to obtain within 6 months (preferred).
• 4+ years of bridge design/analysis experience including concrete and steel.
• Experience with planning, inspection, design, load ratings, contract docs, and construction support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review structural analysis, design plans, specs, and estimates for bridge projects.
• Lead and mentor team members through the design process; serve in lead technical role on bridges.
• Ensure compliance with state DOT/municipal standards and policies.
