Job summary

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in bridges and transportation to lead design and analysis of highway bridges and related structures.

You will manage projects, mentor staff, and collaborate with DOTs, counties, and municipalities. Ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, PE license or ability to obtain, and strong communication, business development, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 10+ years of project and client management experience.
• MS Office experience.
• Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical role on bridge or structural design projects.
• Plan, direct, and monitor multi-discipline projects with high technical complexity.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, and design meetings.
• Conduct schematic, design development and contractual document work sessions with Project Managers and other professionals.
• Ensure deliverables meet standards and client/AMT requirements.
• Coordinate staffing and workload to complete documents on schedule.
• Support project reviews with Business/Accounting Manager and Discipline/Managing Director.
• Implement QA/QC and review bridge plans for projects.
• Train and mentor personnel and supervise junior project managers.
• Maintain professional engineering registration.
