Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation seeks a Construction Project Manager 3 to oversee bridge capital design and construction within the Roadway Bridges group. This role directs reconstruction/rehabilitation projects, reviews contracts, and coordinates with NYCDOT and external agencies to ensure engineering coordination on joint projects.

Field meetings to resolve issues and proactive risk management are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing/construction projects with total cost at least $300,000 per project.
• One year of described experience plus a baccalaureate degree in engineering/construction-related field.
• One year of experience plus a professional engineer/architect/landscape architect license.
• Combination of five years education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above to total five years.
• For Level II, one additional year of satisfactory full-time experience in Assignment Level I.
• For Level III, two additional years in Assignment Level I and II or license requirement with driving eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Direct all functions pertaining to reconstruction/rehabilitation of the city's bridges and related structures.
• Oversee review of contract documents, planning/scheduling, and preparation of scopes and specifications.
• Liaise with outside agencies to ensure proper engineering coordination and review of joint projects.
• Manage project schedule, CPMS ratings, and process invoices.
• Use PASSPort to process contract changes; check FMS 2 and FMS3 for funds; update schedule in PWA; manage risks and issues.
