Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking an Associate Project Manager III to oversee bridge-related projects and field activities. You will supervise field teams, review design drawings, and coordinate with multiple city agencies and contractors to ensure timely, safe, and compliant project execution.

Responsibilities include evaluating repairs, drafting sketches, and testifying on behalf of the City when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field plus one year of project management experience.
• Alternate: four-year high school diploma with five years of project management/supervisory experience.
• Additional credits for advanced degrees/licenses may apply to meet the education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field visits to identify structural deficiencies and perform analyses.
• Prepare design sketches and repair protocols; track repair requests and urgency.
• Coordinate with DOT units and contractors to ensure timely repairs per guidelines.
• Oversee coordination of repair work with external entities; ensure compliance with standards.
• Review preliminary design drawings for future maintainability.
• Perform field visits to NYSDOT/NYCDOT structures in city vehicles.
