Job summary

City of New York invites qualified candidates for the Construction Project Manager 3 role in the Bureau of Capital Design and Construction. The position focuses on managing bridge capital construction projects, overseeing scope, contracts, and coordination with outside agencies such as NYCDOT to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.

Responsibilities include leading scheduling, risk management, and using the CPMS/PWA systems.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or equivalent with five years of full-time experience managing/inspecting construction projects worth at least $300,000.
• One year of experience plus a bachelor's degree in engineering/architecture/construction management.
• One year of experience plus a professional license (PE/Architect/LA).
• Combination of education and experience to total five years may substitute for the above.

Responsibilities

• Direct reconstruction/rehabilitation of the city’s bridges and related structures.
• Oversee review of contract documents, planning, and scheduling.
• Prepare scopes and specifications for construction contracts.
• Liaise with NYCDOT and other agencies to ensure coordination on joint projects.
• Manage project schedule and use CPMS for rating approval and invoicing.
• Monitor risks and issues; check in FMS 2 and FMS3 for funding; update schedules in PWA.
