Job summary

Department of Transportation in New York City seeks a Construction Project Manager for the Bureau of Capital Design and Construction, Division of Bridges. You will lead reconstruction and rehabilitation of city bridges, review contracts, and coordinate with NYCDOT and field teams to resolve issues.

You will manage schedules, use CPMS for approvals and invoicing, and assess risks to ensure projects stay funded and on track. Strong leadership and multi-project multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and five years of full-time experience in construction project management or inspection totaling at least $300,000 per project.
• Alternatively, one year of described experience with a baccalaureate degree in engineering, construction, or related fields.
• Or one year of experience with a valid professional license in engineering/architectural fields.
• Or a combination of education and two years of experience to total five years.
• License requirements: valid NY driver license for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Direct all functions related to reconstruction/rehabilitation of city bridges and related structures.
• Oversee contract documents, reports, and scheduling; prepare scopes and specs for construction contracts.
• Liaise with outside agencies and NYCDOT for coordination; manage project schedule and risks.
• Utilize CPMS and PASSPort for approvals, invoices, and contract changes.
• Update schedules in PWA and manage project issues to ensure funds and timelines are met.
