Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, is seeking a Construction Project Manager II to lead in-house crews, review plans, issue work tickets, and coordinate with trades for safe, timely bridge projects in NYC. You will monitor progress, costs, and safety, with duties extending to evenings and weekends as required.

Requirements include strong AutoCAD and MS Office skills, a NYC driver license, and relevant construction management experience or professional licensure

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects with a total cost of at least $300,000
• Possible substitution with a bachelor’s degree or professional license as described
• License/credential options include PE, Architect, or Landscape Architect; or a mix of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Assign and coordinate activities of in-house crews
• Review engineering plans for repairs
• Prepare work tickets and lane closure applications; draft Coast Guard notices
• Coordinate with trades to ensure safety and logistics
• Monitor daily progress and material/ personnel costs; prepare project reports
• Respond to emergencies and supervise after-hours work

Four-year high school diploma + 5 years construction management experience

Baccalaureate degree in engineering/construction management

Professional engineer/architect/landscape architect license
