Job summary

The Department of Transportation (Division of Bridges) seeks a Construction Project Manager II to oversee in-house crews, coordinate repairs, and review plans for major bridge projects in New York City. The position requires strong leadership, field oversight, and collaboration with trades to maintain safety and mobility.

Responsibilities include preparing tickets, coordinating lane closures, monitoring progress, and generating project reports.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing and/or inspecting construction projects with total cost at least $300,000 per year.
• One year of the experience described above plus a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field.
• A valid motor vehicle driver license issued by New York State must be maintained for duration of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assign and coordinate activities of in-house crews and perform flag and corrective repairs on elevated infrastructure.
• Review engineering plans for repair projects and prepare work tickets and lane closure applications.
• Draft U.S. Coast Guard notices of upcoming work and coordinate with skilled trades to ensure safety standards are met.
