Job summary

Thimble Alterations is building a network of independent professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear. You will alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom gowns with attention to hems, bustles, bodices, straps, and zippers.

As an independent contractor, you’ll conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly while delivering high-quality finishes in a flexible, work-from-home arrangement with local client requests provided

Qualifications

• Bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations experience.
• Strong garment construction knowledge and precise measuring.
• Proficient in machine and hand sewing.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers).
• Work with structured bridal gowns (layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle).
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly.
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings.
• Handle additional requests for prom dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
