Job summary

Thimble Alterations operates a network of independent alteration professionals specializing in bridal and wedding wear. You will alter gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother‑of‑the‑bride/groom garments, handling hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, and zippers.

You will conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly while delivering high-quality finishing. This remote contractor role provides flexibility to select projects and grow your client base through

Qualifications

• Proven experience with bridal and/or women's formalwear alterations.
• Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring.
• Machine + hand sewing proficiency.
• Professional communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Alter wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and mother-of-the-bride/groom dresses (hemming, bustle, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
• Work with structured bridal gowns (multiple layers, lace, beading, linings, boning/tulle)
• Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
• Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
